“If ever two were one, then surely we — choosing each other on this day, and every one after.”
A mutual friend invited them both to the same Christmas party. As we'd only learn later, we each left thinking the exact same thing: I could never just walk up to them. So we didn't. We each went back to that friend, separately, and asked about the other. She never gave much away. She simply told each of us, quietly, that we should reach out. So we did.
A year after dating, on January 15th, 2026, Eli insisted Vanity book a mani-pedi (he wanted a pedicure, if we're honest). Then they hiked up a mountain, where Eli produced a single golden rose; an anniversary gift, and a very good distraction. While Vanity admired it, Eli got down on one knee. He says he has never been more sure of anything. They're marrying on that same date, one year on.
They built this day the way they strive to build everything: on purpose, together. Eli wanted to be surrounded by the people who he feels have truly shown up for them. Vanity's happiest memories are of family gathered around a shared meal. So that's the whole plan: They'll marry, then we'll eat, talk, and take pictures late into the evening. No formal dancing, no rush. Just the people we love and a very long dinner.
No formal dancing, no schedule to race through. Just vows, a shared meal, and good conversation.
We'll be in áo dài. For our guests, we'd love garden-formal attire in our colors; not required. Please do not wear ivory, white, or gold colors.
We can't wait to share a table with you.
For those who can't make it! We will take your words and add them to the physical guestbook.
Your note will appear here once Vanity & Eli have had a chance to read it.
Notes are gently reviewed before they appear.

We've already built a home together, so there's no toaster we're missing. What we're saving for is the honeymoon. The first trip of our married life. If you'd like to contribute, you can send a gift by Zelle to VandE@MccrearyFamily.com. No expectation.
None planned, but welcome where available! This is an evening for eating, talking, and being together. Come ready to linger till 9 pm.
Please do! Picture-taking is officially part of the program.
No registry. We're gratefully collecting for our honeymoon instead. Gifts can be sent by Zelle to VandE@MccrearyFamily.com
We chose an adults-only wedding. Your invitation notes who's included. Questions? Just ask us.
